My Journey

No one would know it apart from my closest family and friends, but I suffered with high-functioning anxiety from the age of about 18.

I tried various things to overcome it; psychotherapy, counselling, hypnotherapy, cbt and although various things helped temporarily, the anxiety always came back.  When I had my children, it got worse; at that point, a friend told me about The Thrive Programme®.

It helped me understand why I was creating the anxiety in the first place and as soon as I knew this, I could focus on not creating it, rather than firefighting.  The programme transformed my life and I have not suffered with anxiety since.

I retrained to become a coach myself in 2019 and left the wine trade shortly after.  I did a coaching diploma in 2022 to compliment my work as a Thrive Programme Coach® and for personal development.

More About Me

  • I’m based in Knutsford, Cheshire and work from an office at my home. However, I work with clients all over the world thanks to Zoom.

  • There is nothing else like it. It is so empowering and anyone can change their life with a little bit of effort – I can say this from personal experience! It is truly amazing to see the transformation in people, even after just a couple of sessions.

The Thrive Programme not only teaches you skills that will improve your mental wellbeing, it goes beyond treating symptoms and has a positive impact on all parts of your life. You can go from battling symptoms and just 'existing' to loving your life and 'thriving' in a matter of weeks. And we can prove it.

  • I’ve worked in the wine trade for 15 years, as a wine buyer and selling wine. Some people’s dream job I know!  After doing The Thrive Programme myself, I knew I wanted to help others improve their life in the same way.

One of the main draws was being able to help children and young people learn these skills so they’re able to deal with the ever-increasing challenges they face, with confidence and ease.

  • Along with a passion for wine comes a love of food! I enjoy exercising (mainly to balance the former) – all sorts of things, from spin classes to hot yoga.   I love cold water swimming; even better if it's followed by a sauna.

A good walk in the Peak District followed by a roast dinner is my perfect Sunday. Despite having had two ACL reconstructions, I love skiing when I get the chance.

A lesser-known fact is that I did grade 8 piano many moons ago and enjoy playing when I can. Mostly, you’ll find me at home with my family, entertaining friends and going to the cinema when I get the chance. Netflix is great but you can’t beat the big screen.

I took up playing cricket four years ago (after thinking it was the most boring sport for most of my life!) and really loved it but after quite a few injuries, I might need to find a more sedate sport!

  • I was given a one-week old tortoise by a wine grower (who was also the local tortoise breeder) after making polite conversation and telling him I’d wanted one as a child. She is still alive and living with my mum in North Wales.

  • I’ve lived in Paris and speak French, as well as a little bit of Italian.

  • Thoughtful, empathetic, fun, cheeky, and resourceful.

  • UK/GMT (BST in the summer)

  • I work flexible hours during the week to suit clients depending on where they are. I do a couple of evenings but these get quite booked up. I have the best availability during the day.

  • “ It’s hard to put into words how much Philippa has helped us.  It’s like someone has turned the lights back on.  My daughter has not only overcome her emetophobia entirely but is embracing life in ways we never thought possible this time last year.  But I never expected the impact working with Philippa would have on me and our family too.  The book and sessions helped break things down in such a straightforward way that you wonder why you haven’t done anything like it before.  For me personally, it has been a guiding light away from anxiety and I’ll be forever grateful for that ” Ceriann
